Kahang Eco-Adventure Camp @ Kahang Organic Rice Eco-Farm
DAY 1:
We left CJC and got on the Coach. It was reallyyyyyy nice and comfy. I sat next to Judders. We were both v. uncomfortable even though the coach really was very nice. IDK why. We complained and grumbled on our way there. Stopped for some food. Alex nearly bought a rabbit burger. Ended up buying an Ostrich burger. Twinkle and I ate paus. Fucking lame. The burger was damn shiok. Lesson well learnt.
Reached KOREF, had a briefing, set up tents. I was SO happy i was sleeping with ange and deb cos they brought a combined total of 15 ponchos for a 4 day camp. So the ponchos were used to line the tent in case it rained.
We had lunch later on. All our meals were organic rice with other dishes. We skipped the fruits so we wouldn't shit. Lunch was powerpacked with fibre already. Went for our first activity. Which was the Forest Walk. As we walked the tour guide picked leaves and berries along the way for us to eat. The first thing we tried was the worst- Neem Tree. The PW group in my class (chinseng and twinkle that gang) didnt even know it was the Neem Tree although their entire proj was on that. (CS insisted that he knew it was the neem tree but i think it was quite obvious he didnt know when the guide asked and nobody responded... And twinkle......... Please, it's twinkle.)
I was really annoyed during the whole ILOVENATURE walk. Because it was hot, there were mosquitoes and the worst part was that we stopped at this place that smelled like shit (fertilisers). Oh and in an attempt to make CS eat a berry i knocked it out of his hand (he was gonna eat it) HAHAHAHA.
We walked further into the forest. It started to rain. Then it started to pour. So we walked back (THANK GOD we didnt run i would be so annoyed). It was freezing and i was completely drenched. But it was so fun. Best part of the nature walk was the rain. HAHA.
Got back to the hall (meeting area). We realised our tents were drowning in the rain. Went to check on ours, it was safe (Thanks ange and deb!!!)
Magically, it was 6pm already and we had dinner. After that the entire camp was split into two for the night walk. We were the second group to go. So we played a game. We were divided into 6 groups and each group has a sound. then you get jumbled up with your eyes closed and everyone makes their own group sound and you have to form your group again. Mine was the lion. Our strategy damn shiok. I roar, everyone else come to me. SO then Lionel was the first to be displaced from the group. I cheated and looked at where Lionel got displaced to. He was damn far away from everyone and just squatting there with his hands over his head like a prisoner and he looked fucking scared. it was SO funny. so my entire group just looked at him and giggled from a distance.
The hall was really gross btw, cos there were MILLIONS of those insects that appear and chase after lights when it rains. So there were alot on the floor as well and it was like raining insects. Gross.
Anyway our turn for the night walk came soon (too soon). Everyone was scaring each other (idk whether intentionally or not) But they were all like "Dont call each other by the name". I'm not a big fan of walking when I can't see shit. But the purpose of this walk was.................... Ok Hi, what was the purpose? IDK, learning how to survive in the jungle or sth cos when you're out there (without the moonlight) you cant see shit at all. So we had to blindfold ourselves (moon was out so it was too bright). I wore a cap and cheated. Duh. Pls, i even cheat when we play blind man's buff in the pool. (eh hi guys, not all the time lah dont kick me out of the game ok?)
Anyway, as with the night walk i didnt cheat the ENTIRE time. In fact most of the time i kept my "blindfold" on. Later when we all took off our blindfolds we saw the reflection of the moon on the water droplets on the trees and it was really beautiful. Thats about the only time I appreciated nature.
Later on we walked back and settled down. We found out that our waterproof tent was not so water proof after all. Took like an hour to decide whether we should use a canvas and continue to sleep in the tent or sleep in the open in the hall.
Finally decided to sleep in the hall. The boys decided to sleep in the hall. Then they decided to sleep in the tent. Then they decided to sleep in the hall. Then they decided to sleep in the tent. We tried to make them sleep in the hall with us but they were all "NO WE MADE UP OUR MINDS ALREADY" (finally)
Twinkle and I brushed our teeth with Bottled Water. Went to sleep on the floor in the hall. It was already 1.30am and we were still trying to get settled. Lights out was like at 11pm. HAHAHA. Raymond (instructor) was very angry. I flashed my boobs to settle him down. No. I am just kidding. HAHAHA.
Had mayjahhh problems falling asleep but i finally managed to do so. Slept about 2 hours and it was time to wake up.
DAY 2:
Had breakfast. We were gonna do water activities today. Judith and Nadia decided to sit our of the activies today cos they are Princesses. I was so excited. Part 1 was river walk. I was kinda freaking out over the fact that we'd be with leeches. The instructors were like "100% will get". I was so scared. They dont hurt but still it's mofucking gross as hell. We held hands and walked in a line. I was in between Ange and Twinkle. Then later on I was in between Chris and Twinkle. It was really funny in the beginning cos we were walking through Mud and Kezia got stuck. MAJOR LOL. Once we were in the river we had to dodge alot of branches and spider webs. The branches in the water made it feel like i was stepping on a dead person. And the fallen leaves made me think a leech was on my leg.
After our River walk we walked for abit through the jungle to get back to the hall. I hate walking in the forest/jungle cos its like soil and decomposing dead leaves. (BTW Forest walk was on a pavement) AND i was wet. It was so gross. We walked through a rubber plantation. the guide gave us some facts on it. Like a Brazillian brought it over to Malaysia.
"Anyone knows what is the name of the Brazillian?"
Christopher: "RONALDO!!"
"Do you know why rubber tappers start work at 4am?"
Christopher: "So later they got time to make the food"
Fail until damn jialat this one.
Finally got back to the hall after forever, ate our lunch, set off for more water activities. We did rafting first. It was just standing on 5 bamboo poles tied together. Raymond gave me rubber bands to tie my specs to make sure it doesnt fall off. I looked like a retard and said i am commiting social suicide by using these rubber bands. He laughed damn hard.
Later on he explained the objective of the rafting game. It was to knock over your opponents. Then he asked who wanted to sit in his speedboat and help him do something and knock my friends down from the speedboat. Of course i volunteered becos its a speedboat hello. And I didnt like the idea of getting knocked down into murky water that had tons of fishes inside. So later on i found out his "speedboat" was just a boat with ores. I was damn pissed. hahahaha. But at least i wasnt getting knocked down. I had to scoop water form the boat out of it. So my job was pretty simple. Raymond started asking me if i had a bf and i was all WTF? Later on my friends tried to flip the boat but it was impossible (good boat, not that im heavy. HAHA) So the instructor took the pail and poured water on me. Not Cool.
At the end of the rafting, we went back to the dock and Raymond got out then he said "ok yall can do wtv you want to her now" Damn shiok. Chris and Alex came towards me immediately but i jumped out of the boat and walked in the water. DAMN GROSS...........................................
Later on we went to the obstacle course. I managed to swing across the rope only after 4 times. Pris still couldnt do it after 20 times + professional help. It was damn funny. She wants to be an FBI agent btw. We played Scissors Paper Stone on a log and the loser has to jump off. It was really fun but gross too.
Went back to the hall and showered. I was really happy and clean cos the past few days we'd been putting layers of nonsense on our skin. It's always like a layer of powder followed by mopiko, insecticide and then deodorant. Mopiko really works btw. DAMN power.
Oh and twinkle and i bathed together cos the shower door was broken.
The toilets were in the open but they were surprisingly clean. (sort of)
DAY 3:
Woke up early, packed our bags, took a 2 hour bus ride to some mountain. It was 300m high so i guess its considered a hill but lets just call it a mountain. SO like... They were all climbamountainthis and climbamountainthat. So by "climb a mountain" I thought... walk up a road pavement that winds around the mountain. But when i got to this mountain i got the mofucking shock of my life. Brothers and sisters, it was really fucking climb a mountain, like. walk on an uphill dirtpath with rotting leaves and huge ants all over. SO anyway we climbed and complained and complained and climbed. It wasnt that bad actually and thank God my knee was holding up pretty well. We reached the summit and it was SO LAME. The view sucked and the place to sit and eat lunch was sooooooooooooooooooo tiny we were all grouchy and cramped. Oh and on the way up I was behind nadia and i told the photographer not to take a picture he said too bad or sth so I just pointed the middle finger at him the whole time until i passed him. HAHAAH I felt quite bad afterwards. Oh and nadia said she'd hit him if he took a pic (she was grouchy) and when she walked past him i think she shoved him abit.
Anyway we were supposed to go by another way down the mountain that would require us to cross a river but thank god the malaysian government cordoned the area off due to mud slides or sth so we went down by the easier way. When we got down my friends tried to scare me by pushing me into another river. It made me damn scared and i screamed so loud that everyone heard and turned to look. __ Oh and on the way down the mountain i slipped abit and screamed and the instructor (not raymond) in front of me started telling me about how its ok to scream sometimes and he does it too esp when he was climbing a mountain when he saw a snake in front and nearly stepped on it. HAHAHAHAHA
When we drove back and stopped at the beach for tea and to play at the beach. There were alot of crabs. Damn cute. Chris gave me a seashell. I gave him 2 broken ones (what? they were really pretty ok! like purple...). We both ended up throwing them away. HAHAHA.
When we got back, it was raining so it was pointless to bathe. We ended up fishing instead. I caught a catfish within 5 minutes. Well done Sarah! Twinkle took two hours.
She was damn happy after she caught one.
Had dinner, Campfire, then played cards. The game was boring so i left.
Made chris go see the telescope with me. Met janson and his friend on the way. his friend kept hugging me, damn cute. hahahah. Then we met raymond. Christopher happily told him about josh and asked whether raymond bought a condom alrdy. damn kp!
Then raymond went to look for the astro boy to take me to the telescope. Took FOREVER for chris to move his ass (he wanted to leave me and raymond alone) and by the time we got to the telescope the moon was gone so there was nothing to see. Thanks Chris.
Went with a couple of the boys to fish at night although it was really late (2am?)
Me, oliver, chris, yuan zheng, melvin and perry and twinkle sat at the dock talking. Twinkle left cos she was sick and wanted to sleep but i stayed on. We fished with leftovers from dinner (jackfruit and herbs). Gave up and just talked in the end. Went to bed at 4pm.
Woke up the next morning and packed up. watched the workers at the farm use a net to catch 75 catfish. Fishing win. Left and went back to singapore. stopped at a mall on the way back. It was GIGANTIC and we only had 1 hour. Me and Judders went crazy. I nearly had a heart attack.
"Okok. Must strategise"
"okok. Whats our strategy?"
"ok.....idk"
"ohoh ok we shop first then we eat on the bus"
"ok set lets go"
the two of us ditched our fellow classmates who crawl their way through EVERYTHING. (idk they just walk damn slow machiam like crawling liddat) and power walked through the entire mall. Judders bought 2 items in 5 minutes. I bought a dress, earrings, a nose stud, 2 bras, shoes, 3 pairs of socks. Was about $50 in total. Jud and i were damn funny. We went down the escalator then saw something then we'd run up the escalator ok. so finally we went down the escalator for real (it was time to leave) and we had to make sure we looked down on the floor so that we wouldnt see anything upstairs and then run up again. HAHAHA. we joined ur friends at A&W they had sat there the entire 1 hour. Bought food, ate cake, ate yoghurt ice cream and went home.
I had tonssssss of fun and i miss my classmates like crazy already.
