So like, last night while my parents and i were in the car, i told dad about mum telling me to get married. (my dad's the super over protective you're still my little baby type of father)
and then my dad just did his nervous laughter (which shows he doesnt find it amusing at all but he doesnt want to look like a serious retard so he just laughs)
and my mum's like. Ya what, then we don't need to worry about her anymore. She can go and party all she likes and joshy will have to deal with her.
and then again today during supper while we were at the dinner table, my mum looks at me and goes... so when are you getting married (again, she was serious) and my dad is like. YOU MAD AH!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA. it was the. funniest. thing. EVER.
btw my dad's not the kind who gets angry easily. so when he said that he wasnt angry but more like. shocked? definitely not angry thought.
I can totally imagine my dad's reaction if i were to tell him josh proposed to me. He would FREAK out and keep saying no. then he'd probably call josh and tell him to not be crazy and im too young bla bla. then he will scold my mother. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.
cracks me up just thinking about it. sigh.
Anyway, i realised today how much i love my dad. and that i know alot of times i take him for granted. but with fathers' day having just passed by and all (i gave him a pair of boxers that said Worlds Greatest Dad damn funny. it was cheap but its the thought that counts) i really realised im one lucky girl for having a father who treats me like a princess, when all around the world there are so many irresponsible fathers who act like they are 5. Seriously, being a father is really an important task because without one your entire upbringing and childhood is so deeply affected. I remember when i first told my parents about joshua. of course they were upset times about a million trillion times. then a few days into trying to tell me joshua is a creep etc etc my dad came to me one night and said, "Is it because i wasnt a good enough father thats why you're with joshua? Because i read somewhere that when you're not a good father then your daughters will look at older men to help them feel better or something"
Of course at that time i just laughed at him and just said no. and he just went away.
But that really impacted me and i felt so, so bad. Because it's definitely not because that my father neglected me or something thats why i ended up with josh or whatever. My dad was always around when i was growing up and he always patted me to bed and told me stories of his childhood. So yeah... but it hurt me alot to think that he is killing himself thinking about what he did wrong. Even nowadays when he walks past the room and im on the computer or something he will be like... so anything to tell me? anything upsetting you? are you ok? and i'll be like ya ya. but actually these little things he does are really sweet.
So yeah, I hope you guys appreciate your fathers more too.
But anyway i'm glad now things with Joshua and my dad and all are good. My parents love him. My mum's side my overly suspicious aunty is still well, overly suspicious. (It has come to a point where i avoid them because i am so irritated.) My brother doesn't really like him still, i think nearly neutral? My dad's side the older people are still not very receptive. Jiejie karen's really excited to meet him, while booboo and vallo i dont know. Because like, first week of June they told me we should break up and today boo said "i've accepted him alrdy" HAHAHA. so i dont know. (hi boo) I know Ida's accepted him already, which is really good because she's my best friend so thats important. But i'm happy with the way things are now, i cant ask for too much right? because these kind of things take time.
And i realised my father and joshua are very similar. hahahaha. it's so cute. (they say girls will marry someone like their fathers. HAHAHA) i'll make a list next time. (because i love lists)
